So my best friend just got married...I am so happy for them! But I'm also thrilled to FINALLY be able to share her gorgeous bridal photo session. We went to her venue, the Avoca Museum, for her session. It was such a great day for photos...and it was nice to visit the place where my husband and I got married. Avoca truly is one of the best venues this area has to offer.

So, without further ado, I present the bride, Casie!

Casie's mother went to see Jesus when she was a senior in high school, so in order to honor her mother, she wrapped her bouquet in a letter from her Mom:)

I have such a beautiful best friend! Casie chose the image above for her enlarged portrait. SO gorgeous!

MBP doesn't shoot many weddings, so I don't get to work with brides often. But I love to, so don't hesitate to contact me for a session!

Chelsea | Bridal Session | Danville, Virginia Bridal Photographer

I am so thrilled to finally be able to share this session! I shot Chelsea's wedding this past Saturday, but we had a bridal session for her back in April! She is one of the most gorgeous brides that I have ever seen...and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to do this session! I don't usually do many bridal sessions, since I don't shoot many weddings. BUT I LOVE BRIDAL SESSIONS! Seriously, call me if you're interested!

Anyways, I'll stop rambling...on to the photos! Here are some of Chelsea and I's favorites! It was really hard to narrow it down to a few...

Crystal | Vintage Bridal Session | Chatham, Virginia Bridal Photographer

Oh my goodness. Crystal's vintage bridal session is one of my favorite sessions ever! And it was awesome to visit the location where my husband and I got married as well, The Avoca Museum.  We did all of her photos inside, which was the plan, even though I had hoped to snap a few outside too, however it was a rather windy day. I hope you enjoy looking through these as much as I do! Crystal is a living miracle...she survived a terrible car accident a few years ago and has had multiple surgeries since. She plans to get married soon, even though yet another surgery seems to be hindering their plans. Best wishes to Crystal and Brandon!

What I would have done differently... | Spin-off of OLAS Photography's wedding post | South Central VA On Location Photographer

My wedding was on October 9, 2010. It was an usually warm day for October. The location was at a local museum--The Avoca Museum, which is a big house. A really beautiful, big house. The wedding was outdoors and the location fit perfectly in to my vintage vibe.
So what would I have done differently? My inspiration for this post comes from a recent post by (once like a spark) photography. You can read that post here
1. Had WAY FEWER guests. I wish that my ceremony and reception could have been more intimate and personal. Don't get me wrong, I loved the way that our ceremony turned out. Just the way I wanted! But there were so many people there, that afterwards, I didn't get to talk to everyone! I had no clue that certain people were there until I read our guest album...sad.
2. Dancing. I wanted to have fun dancing at the reception, but we never got around to more than "our dances." We were trying to socialize and get photos taken. If there had been fewer guests, that would have resolved this problem. I also worried that there wouldn't be many people left to see us off, so we left the reception earlier than I wanted to. Why did I worry? Was it really that big of a deal? NO! Don't sweat the small stuff! I could have had dancing if I hadn't been so concerned about guests watching us leave...

3. Details. I think I did rather well with some details. However, if there had been fewer guests, my reception costs would have been less, therefore more money to go towards the details:)

4. Let my Dad cut his hair. Funny story...my Dad had had long hair since I was in 8th grade. He wanted to cut it before my wedding and I wouldn't let him because I was afraid that I wouldn't like it. It's his hair! He can do what he wants...why was I so picky?! After our wedding, he cut it and I LOVED it! He looked 10 years younger...really. So nice. And everyone was so shocked he cut it! See, I could have let him surprise everyone at the wedding...lol.
Love my Daddy:)
Those about sum it up...especially the details one:) When you plan your special day...stop, think, and take some time to talk to those of us who have already done it! Don't sweat the small stuff though...your day will be as perfect as you make it!
Here are a few more shots from our special day:

Happy wedding planning!
