To say that we had a blast on this session would be an understatement...the only thing I would have changed would have been to start early to be able to enjoy it longer and get even more awesome photos! I wanted to get my senior model team together again and have some fun. They were pretty thrilled with the Americana theme I chose. They did a FABULOUS job pulling their outfits together! Enjoy a few favorites from the session!

Ohhhh and choosing a song that fit just right seemed impossible. But I like the way the video turned out:) I have such a great group of seniors...way better than Kenny makes out American Kids to be! Sure, they know how to have a good time though! I seriously would take in any of these seniors as my own.

Shootout & Portfolio Build | Richmond, Virginia | Chatham, Virginia Senior Photographer

So a big announcement was made on Monday! I am teaming up with 2 amazing photographers on July 19 in Richmond, Virginia to bring a portfolio building experience to senior photographers! The amazing Vickie, photographer as well as editor of Senior Style Guide will be coming in from Indiana! Kristie Bradley, of Kristie Bradley Photography will also be there! She has lined up 4 fabulous teen and senior models for the attendees to shoot. We will meet up in downtown Richmond at Shockoe Denim for a 1 hour Q&A then head out for an urban downtown shootout with a vintage twist! This is going to be so much fun!

There are 12 seats for this shootout, but 6 are already filled! I can't wait to meet everyone. Each attendee will be sure to get the hands on/up close shooting experience they desire with each of the models! Not to mention we have a few surprises up our sleeves:)

Brandon Meadows | Musician | Chatham, Virginia Photographer

Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting Brandon Meadows...again! We had an awesome shoot last year (when I was pregnant with Ellie), so it was nice to shoot again and not be out of breath! LOL! We met up hoping to snag some awesome sunset images, but the storms had other plans. Even though we didn't get some of what we wanted, I am still stoked about the way these turned out. Brandon shared his edgy vision with me and I think we were able to get just that! Of course I'm a sucker for sunflare and fields, so we started off with those vibes and moved on into the edgier stuff:)

Casie | Bridal Portraits | Altavista, Virginia Photographer

So my best friend just got married...I am so happy for them! But I'm also thrilled to FINALLY be able to share her gorgeous bridal photo session. We went to her venue, the Avoca Museum, for her session. It was such a great day for photos...and it was nice to visit the place where my husband and I got married. Avoca truly is one of the best venues this area has to offer.

So, without further ado, I present the bride, Casie!

Casie's mother went to see Jesus when she was a senior in high school, so in order to honor her mother, she wrapped her bouquet in a letter from her Mom:)

Tea Party Mini Sessions | Easter 2014 | Chatham, Virginia Family Photographer

This year for spring mini sessions, I decided to have a mini tea party for my special little models:) Needless to say, BEST IDEA EVER. They did what ever I asked cause they knew there was a cookie waiting for them when we finished! However, Noah just couldn't wait for cookies. He ate quite a chunk of my grapes! Here is a little preview of all the fun we had!

Caitlin | Studio Formal Session | Danville, Virginia Photographer

Caitlin is one of MBP's 2015 Senior Models:) I am so excited to have her on my team! Caitlin blew me away during her in-person interview, so when I decided to try something new with the studio formals, I called her up and asked her if she would be interested. She was, and after I saw her prom dress, I knew this was going to be an amazing experience for us both. The color of her dress went perfectly with what was in my head. It's always exciting to try new things, and I had a blast trying out artificial lighting and a whole new style of photography.

Here are a few of my faves from her session. She was like royalty, for real. I couldn't get over how glamorous she was!
