Valentine's Day is coming up...and so I decided to get my crew together for a fun, downtown shoot! I'm glad that we had planned for last weekend considering this weekend's weather! And they thought it was cold last weekend! HA!

Lindsay is one of my 2016 Junior Models. What can I say, she's very talented, beautiful, funny...I could go on! I kinda shot the idea of a fair shoot in Danville by her, expecting her to think that I was crazy, but she was totally all in! I had had a vision of a vintage/retro style dress in red with white polka dots.
It's a brand new year...2016 is here!! As if you missed the memo. I see posts everywhere about celebrations, regrets, and change. I felt the need to share my reflections on 2015 and how those reflections led me into a better business plan for 2016.
Kayla is such a natural beauty...I just couldn't get over her gorgeous eyes! I was thrilled to be her senior photographer and she has the sweetest Mom! When we were planning her session out a few days prior, I knew that I wanted to take her to a sunflower field that was in bloom.
As I'm sure most of you are VERY aware of, we've been experiencing LOTS of rain here in Virginia....for really, the past TWO WEEKS. [I want summer back, WAHHHH!] And with lots of rain comes rescheduled photo sessions. Kayley however, was up for the challenge of shooting in the rain. Yes, this was all HER idea!
This summer has been a busy one! And until I can blog each session, I thought I would share a quick recap of this summer's senior sessions and some of my favorite images so far from those sessions!
Summer 2015 has definitely been one for the books...I seriously don't want it to end!! Where do I start? It's certainly been a summer of travel...I've been to NYC, Indiana, and in between:) I want to share some images from this summer's adventures, as well as just reminisce in the memories made!
Meet Joshua. He's a 2016 senior from Gretna High and also on my model team. Joshua is such a breath of fresh air. It's not often that you run into seniors, let alone senior guys, who are firm in their faith and don't hesitate to stand for what they believe in.
On Saturday, I had the opportunity to shoot the wedding of an absolutely wonderful couple. I have known Alex and Faith since they were high school sweethearts. I actually shot their prom photos one year! I don't shoot many weddings, but when the GROOM selects you as his photographer, contacts you months in advance, and the couple just absolutely states that I have to shoot their wedding...you just can't say no!
David and Olivia got hitched this past Thursday in their family's back yard...and it was one of the sweetest little ceremonies ever! I had wondered if storms would interrupt, but they went around and everything went off without any problems:)
Yesterday's wedding at the Avoca Museum was nothing short of sweet! I have been shooting Rae Anne since she was a senior in high school, and have loved working with her and Kavon. I knew these two cared for one another, but I truly saw how much they love each other yesterday! They had me jumping for excitement to shoot their "First Look," tearing up during the wedding, and itching to dance during their reception! I wanted to post a few previews for them before I leave for Indy tomorrow, so here they are!
Check out their First Look! Yep, Kavon cried! Such a sweet moment!! And the bridesmaids approved!
After the wedding, I was able to steal them away for a couple of shots...such a lovely venue that brought back SO many memories, since it's also where I got married!! I wish you both nothing short of the best with your future life together!
Follow me on Facebook to see when more previews are posted!

My group model session was TONS of fun! We went with a boho chic theme, which the girls loved planning for. I had an old chair that I set up in a field. My husband cut some bamboo poles for me (and got eat up with ticks of all sizes) to make a teepee. One of my models brought the area rug....I threw in some pillows and lanterns, and TADA! A hippy camp fit for any sisterhood! LOVED it! I have models this year from Gretna, Chatham, Westover, Dan River, Tunstall, and GW high schools. Included here are my models from Westover, Dan River, Tunstall, and GW. Look for a separate post coming soon of my Gretna and Chatham models. MUA: Katie Mosher, River City Salon and Spa in Danville.
Meet Abby, a GW senior...
Meet Sydney from Westover...and Emmalee, who is homeschooled.
Meet my junior model, Lindsay, from Tunstall!
Meet Brianna (Bri) from Dan River, and Lindsey from Westover!
Ohhhh how I love shots of laughter....
We went down to the creek for a few shots...and a cool down:) The girls enjoyed it!
These ladies are tons of fun to work with...we have since met for our first "Sweet Frog Social." It was nice to be together, especially since Lindsey (from Westover, pictured above) had just lost her Dad to a tragic incident. We all are keeping her and her family in our prayers. I am thankful for such a great group of models who def seem to come together when needed.
Look for more photos of these lovely ladies as their senior sessions approach! If you're hoping to get in on this year's calendar, please don't wait! Summer is almost full (I have some Aug availability). Fall is almost full as well. Use the contact tab at the top to reach me!
I look forward to hearing from you! Megan
